  • Derpy makes a delivery to the postal hub in Cloudsdale. After years of working as the Ponyville mail mare she finally owns her own small delivery service, Ditzy Doo Deliveries, so these little visits are becoming commonplace.

  • ... And she drops her delivery a little too hard on the counter. Well, even Rainbow Dash has her off days. I suspect the package was meant for him, I wouldn't get emotional over a box, I'd probably reprimand Derpy first.
    I lie, she's adorable, couldn't do it.
I think Scott here would have rather she just gave it to him around the counter.

  • Having finished her delivery Derpy finds an old (and apparently determined) acquaintance. On a schedule, Derpy spends a few moments catching up before they say what came to be their final farewells.
Turns out the weekend livestreams don't always kill my internet connection, and the artists are quite willing to offer suggestions. I know what I need to practice though, textures.

  • While it may not be much, Derpy was always a strong supporter of the war effort. If Dinky Doo could have even a slight chance at a life free from the horrors of war, Derpy would make sure it happened. Anything for her daughters future.
In two hundred years her hope for Silver Bell is the same, but when the Enclave arrive Derpy can't let this happen again. The war took Dinky, it wasn't going to take Silver Bell from her as well.
    There are minutes remaining.

  • In which a familiar scenario plays out.
She could count how much time she has left on her hooves, better get moving.

  • Within hours Equestria fell to the Balefire Bombs. One of the first places to be attacked was Cloudsdale. Derpy was unable to escape the blast, her wagon joining hundreds of others in the resulting mass pegasus graveyard, which is also the only physical remains of Cloudsdales existence.
    Derpy has seconds left.

  • "Unicorn ponies cast spells. Zebras did not. They mixed their magics into potions and phylacteries and fetishes. Their megaspells were either worked into enchanted missiles, like the one which obliterated Cloudsdayle, or snuck into population centers and detonated, like the balefire bomb which annihilated Manehattan."
Poor Derpy, she just wanted to do her best, make her friends smile, and now all her friends are gone.

  • ...

  • In which Derpy was unable to fly fast enough.
I was considering having her stay attached to the vehicle except that realistically the ponies are dragging their vehicles not driving them, and ditching the vehicle would let her fly faster.

  • Unconcious, Derpy lands less gracefully than even she could ever imagine. Her body has begun to heal, a gift of the magic fire that should have killed her.
    Page 10
  • Cutie marks damaged by magical energies don't grow back or heal, so her cutie mark is now permanently gone.
Better that than dead at least.

  • And so ends Derpys adventure for the time being. Hope you liked my version of how Derpy began the meandering journey through the wasteland ending 200 years later with the arrival of Littlepip. This is nowhere near canon, since she was originally just flying by Cloudsdale when the missile hit, however I felt that version didn't really push the point about the lives lost. What did work was the field of broken sky wagons and rubble, so I wanted to capture a tiny bit of that.
