The Future is Magic - The Mare in the Mask

1. With school out and summer arrived, many young foals enjoy their break for the next few months. Even Twilight and Courageous send their daughter Starlight to enjoy time with her relatives for the time being...while they welcome some newly-arrived guests from the far-away kingdom of El Caballa...a nation known for its beauty and traditions. They greet Oro Dinero, the wealthiest stallion in all of El Caballa...who has arrived to visit the great nation of Tambelon, and hope to establish an estate here, which he had purchased right away.

2. Oro did not come alone. He had brought along his beautiful daughter Espina Rosa...a lovely mare all decked in red, to show off how her radiant beauty bloomed like an actual rose. However, she takes a big risk in angering the Princess of Harmony by flirting with her husband Courageous...right in front of her. Although Courageous cannot help but blush at her advances, he remains at bay as he feels the glaring eyes of his wife upon him, but mostly upon Rosa; She sees this mare as more of a thorn in her side rather than a friend...but keeps her cool since Oro and his daughter are their special guests.

3. Despite the warm welcome and sight of good intentions, Oro Dinero has other plans: Knowing how much gold is build into the foundations of the very City of Tambelon herself, he plans to steal the gold from the city below, flee with it, and make it back home before anypony could suspect him. With plans of the city his spies gathered over time, he sent his guards out in the middle of the night to capture what few citizens they could. Any caught out after dark made easy targets. Once captured, they were taken into the underground caverns that ran under the city...where massive amounts of gold resided, especially in what was known as "The Great Golden Pillars of Tambelon."

4. All ponies, zebras, and more captured were chained with special metals that were not only hard to break, but were made to be magic-resistant...which mean while they could cast magic to handle the picks, they could not use any means of escaping. Not to mention the guards watching and driving them to work long hours, and ready to use their Paralyzing rods on them that would make them go numb for quite some time, and be unable to move. Not wishing to get on the bad side of the cruel guards, the prisoners worked effortlessly to mine the gold out of the walls and pillars.

5. Oro, with so much gold mined from the caverns, would become far richer than he already was...and the city itself would crumble without the support of the pillars, at least once he left the city with his newly-added fortune. But for now, while the captured ponies mined, he would keep the Royal Family occupied with parties and more to keep such suspensions off him and his plans.

6. The following night, a grand party was held at Dinero Manor...where all ponies of high class, and friends of the high class, were invited...provided they dawn the attire of his homeland of El Caballa. The Mane Six and their loved ones all arrived, and while they all appeared as beautiful as ever before, it was the sight of the Prince and Princess of Tambelon that brought in such awe. They would then dance to the music of the band playing, which brought the attention of all...and cheers for all to give onto their great and beloved leaders. sWhile the party continued, Twilight and Courageous met with Espina Rosa...who admitted she admired their eternal love, and shared stories with them of her homeland...and the infamous tale of the Masked Mare, the outlaw who stood up to the rich and corrupt and was a servant of all pony-kind. She had once taken on Oro himself and gave all he stole back to the people, and vanished; Espina tells this as her favorite tale, even though it was around the time her mother vanished..which hints to her that her own mother was the Masked Mare, but never proven.

7. Once the party ended and everypony returned home, Twilight and Courageous discovered a chest within their bedroom; The balcony door was open, but to whom it was who had entered and left this chest was unknown. Inside were outfits of such unusual design, along with a note that revealed of the plan in motion: Oro was up to something...something that could not be found by the Royal Family through their usual means, since it would arouse suspicion, and possibly lead nowhere. However, the discover what Oro Dinero was up to, the two ponies would have to shed their appearances as Royalty...and turn to the role of outlaw, which perhaps the only means to save their kingdom.

8. Even without the use of the Light, Courageous Heart remained strong with the support of his beloved wife...as she used her best spells to alter their appearances so nopony could recognize them; The outfits alone would not be enough, so Twilight darkened her colors to appear more like the legendary Masked Mare, based on the images she had seen from Espina Rosa...while darkening Courageous's colors too to make him look the part, and be called the Silver Stallion.. From there, on that same late night, they entered the Dinero Estate, and while the Silver Stallion held off the guards, The Masked Mare acquired the plans discovered: The plans for acquiring workers to mine gold, along with maps of the caverns below the city, which she knew right away meant the one place she had closed off was occupied by Oro's forces and being mined for so much of its gold. If too much were to be taken from the structures below, it could lead to a literal collapse of the city, which could affect the entire kingdom and weaken it. Such an act was something neither outlaw would allow...and so they escaped from the estate and made their way into the tunnels through secret passages they knew only.

9. Once inside, the Masked Mare and Silver Stallion fought off the guards together, and freed the prisoners...and while the former helped them to escape back up to the surface, the latter came face-to-face with Oro himself...and was ready to take him on. As a stallion of honor, despite his evil ways, Oro fought the Silver Stallion without the need of magic, and since the Silver Stallion had no magical abilities, nor Light, he too fought one on one with just their hooves and heads to butt.

10. Even as the fight went on, Oro was losing and attempted to cheat by using one of those Paralyzing Rods. Such an act would bring Oro great dishonor, but he cared not...for he would not allow these outlaws to foils his plans...especially again. However, using his own skills he learned from long ago, Courageous knocked the rod out of Oro's magical grasp, took hold of the handle with his own teeth, and poked Oro in the chest...stunning him and winning the fight. Oro had lost not only his plans, but the love of his daughter once she had found out...even though she revealed that she and her mother, the original Masked Mare, were in on this for some time. They were the ones who gave Twilight and Courageous, who revealed themselves right before Oro, the costumes to dawn and save the kingdom. Oro and his guards were arrested right there, and the gold was returned to the structures...and nopony would ever know it was their own rulers who saved the day.

11. The kingdom celebrated the defeat of the corrupt Oro Dinero and his plans to destroy Tambelon for the sake of greed and gold, and all believed it was the Prince and Princess who secretly sent the Masked Mare and Silver Stallion to save them, as per the rumor and whispers spread about. Espina knew the truth but would keep it secret...and only between her new friends. As for Twilight and Courageous, they were hailed as the ones who sent the saviors, secretly themselves, to save Tambelon. But that would not be the only thing to celebrate: As Twilight kissed the cheek of her beloved stallion and husband, whom she was proud of for facing evil without the need of the Light, she revealed she was pregnant...and would soon bear a whole new foal and addition to their family. Courageous Heart was surprised to say the least, but happy beyond everything to hear this wonderful news. A new member was to enter their family, and would be a miracle and glorious day to behold in the months to come.
